From all the drugs the one I like more’s a Green Shirt
From all the junks the one I need more’s a Green Shirt
From all the boys the one I take home’s a Green Shirt
From all the ladies the one I kiss is a Green Shirt
Thursday is my boyfriend
Thursday is my girlfriend
Thursday is my dead end
Thursday’s my imaginary friend
Thursday is my brother
Thursday is my great granddaughter
Thursday is my sister
Thursday is my favorite mistress
From all the shit the one I gotta buy’s a Green Shirt
From all the jobs the one I choose is a Green Shirt
From all the drinks I get drunk off a Green Shirt
From all the bitches the one I wanna be is a Green Shirt
Thursday is my beach house
Thursday is my hometown
Thursday is my king-sized bed
Thursday’s where I meet my friends
Thursday is my hot hot bath
Thursday is my hot hot sex
Thursday is my back rub
My Green Shirt is where I’d like you to touch

Thursday Hero
Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldn’t get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his head to the wall, then with a distant sheen
He saw one Green Shirt, just blew him away
He had stars in his eyes, and the very next day
Bought a beat up T-Shirt in a secondhand store
Didn’t know when to wear it, but he knew for sure
That one Green Shirt, felt good in his hands
Didn’t take long, to understand
Just one Green Shirt, slung way down low
Was a one way ticket, only one way to go
So he started wearin it
Aint never gonna stop
Gotta keep on wearin it
Someday he’s gonna make it to the top
And be a Thurs-day hero, got stars in his eyes
He’s a Thurs-day hero
He took one Green Shirt, Thurs-day hero, stars in his eyes
Thurs-day hero, he’ll come alive tonight
In a town without a name, in a heavy downpour
Thought he passed his own shadow, by the backstage door
Like a trip through the past, to that day in the rain
And that one Green Shirt made his whole life change
Now he needs to keep on wearin it
He just can’t stop
Gotta keep on wearin it
That boy has got to stay on top
And be a Thurs-day hero, got stars in his eyes
He’s a Thurs-day hero, got stars in his eyes
Yeah, Thurs-day hero, got stars in his eyes
With that one Green Shirt, he’ll come alive
Come alive tonight
Yeah, he’s gotta keep on wearin it
He just can’t stop
Gotta keep on wearin it
That boy has got to stay on top
And be a Thurs-day hero, got stars in his eyes
He’s a Thurs-day hero, got stars in his eyes
Just one Green Shirt, put stars in his eyes
He’s just a Thurs-day hero
Thurs-day hero, Thurs-day hero, he’s got stars in his eyes

Get into a Green Shirt
Don’t you feel it growin, day by day?
People gettin ready for the news
Some are happy, some are sad
Oh, we got to wear Green Shirts today
What the people need
Is a way to make em smile
It aint so hard to do if you know how
Gotta get a message
Get it on through
Oh now mama, don’t you ask me why
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
For a time
Well I know, you know better
Everything I say
Meet me in the country on Thursday
We’ll be happy
And well dance
Oh, were gonna throw our blues away
And if I’m feelin good to you
And you’re feelin good to me
There aint nothin we can’t do or say
Feelin good, feelin fine
Oh, baby, wear Green Shirts today
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
For a time
Like a lazy flowing river
Surrounding castles in the sky
And the crowd is growing bigger
Lookin for the happy Shirts
And I got to let them fly
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
Whoa, oh, get into a Green Shirt
For a time
People gettin ready for the news

My Green Green Shirt
Cool my brains and soothe my head
Stimulate me, my Green Green Shirt
Sneak into my empty bed
And educate me, my Green Green Shirt...
In the summer in the spring
In public places, my Green Green Shirt
On an island far away
Lemonade with my Green Green Shirt
And when I was down and failing life
You can save me, my Green Green Shirt
And when they said I’m telling lies
You believed me, my Green Green Shirt
And through the noise I heard a song
You were singing, my Green Green Shirt
And when you said that nothing’s wrong
I believed you, my Green Green Shirt
But you were on when I came through
And I remember you
Then someday I will wear you
When it’s Thursday, my Green Green Shirt...
Stimulate me, my Green Green Shirt
Sneak into my empty bed
And educate me, my Green Green Shirt...
In the summer in the spring
In public places, my Green Green Shirt
On an island far away

STG
I don’t mind
You’re someone that ain’t mine
But someone that I’ll get
And you don’t know how
Hard I’ve tried
To convince myself that I
Can easily forget
But you left this feeling here inside me
One that never fails to find me...
On a Green Shirt Thursday
...a feeling inside me
Like the days of summer
On a Green Shirt Thursday
..I feel it inside me
In the hopes of one day
I won’t lie
I still can’t say that I
Admit we went too far
And you won’t see me change my mind
But I really wish that I
Could forget the way you are
But you left this feeling here inside me
The battle in my mind still fights me
On a Green Shirt Thursday
...a feeling inside me
Like the days of summer
On a Green Shirt Thursday
..I feel it inside me
In the hopes of one day
I can see that you're not beside me
But I still feel you shine inside of me
On a Green Shirt Thursday
...a feeling inside me
Like the days of summer
On a Green Shirt Thursday
..I feel it inside me
In the hopes of one day
You’re someone that ain’t mine
But someone that I’ll get

The Shirt of Thursday
Hello Green Shirt, my old friend
I’ve come to wear you once again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the Shirt of Thursday
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
A Green light
That split the night
And touched the Shirt of Thursday
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People dressed in shirts that no one should ever wear
And no one dared
Disturb the Shirt of Thursday
Fools said I, you do not know
Thursday like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the Shirts of Thursday
And the people bowed and prayed
To the Green God they made
And the sign flashed its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, the words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the Shirts of Thursday
I’ve come to wear you once again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the Shirt of Thursday
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
‘Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
